Arsenal came back from 2-0 down inside the first 25 minutes to salvage a point against the newly crowned Premier League champions Liverpool at Anfield.
Cody Gakpo gave the home side the lead with a header from an Andy Robertson cross after a quick throw in, putting it past David Raya at the near post, with Luis Diaz scoring 87 seconds later to double the lead.
It could’ve been even more though, as David Raya made a great stop to deny Luiz Diaz when it was 0-0, from a Mo Salah pass.
Arsenal then got a goal 2 minutes in the second half, with Leandro Trossard’s cross finding Gabriel Martinelli who headed it past Alisson, with Mikel Merino scoring the equaliser after a Martin Odegaard shot was brilliantly saved by the Liverpool goalkeeper.
Mikel Merino did pick up a second yellow card, which means he will miss Arsenal’s penultimate game of the season against Newcastle at home.
Liverpool thought they had won it in the 96th minute via Andy Robertson, but referee Anthony Taylor disallowed it due to a foul by Ibrahima Konate on Myles Lewis-Skelley.
The draw means that Arsenal’s record against the big 6 since 2023 continues, as the Gunners have not lost home or away to a big 6 side since the 4-1 loss to Man City in the 2022/23 season.
The Gunners sit in 2nd on 68 points, with Newcastle currently 2 points behind and Manchester City 3 points behind.
