James Wade cruises through his last 16 match at the BoyleSports World Grand Prix in Leicester, as he defeats a deflated Gerwyn Price 3-0.
James Wade enters the quarter finals as he beats Gerwyn Price 3-0. The former world champion couldn’t keep up with Wade as The Machine was very consistent at maintaining a high average and was very clinical on his double in and outs.
The Machine will now face Mike De Decker in Friday nights quarter final matchup with De Decker coming off a dominating 3-0 victory over Gary Anderson at the beginning of tonight’s matches.
The 41 year old won the first set at the World Grand Prix against Gerwyn Price although he missed six darts to break Price’s throw.
Wade snatched the first two legs in set two as he broke Price’s throw for the first time in the match, checking out D40 in leg one and held his throw to win the second leg of the set. Wade hit his first 180 of the match leaving himself D12 to check out as he won the second set with ease, winning all three legs.
Both players broke each other’s throw in set 3 as the iceman conceded another leg in one he should have won, missing 4 darts while Wade had 160 remaining. Price checked out a 130 on the bull to keep his hopes alive in Leicester.
James Wade is a World Grand Prix quarter finalist as he cruises through The Iceman, Gerwyn Price. The former world champion missed a dart on D40 to hold his throw to stay in the match but James Wade was too precise as Wade checked out D10 to win the match.
Wade has now beaten Price twice in the last couple of weeks as the pair played each other on the European tour, The Iceman lost that match 6-4.
